W.A. Perry Ministry in Need of Volunteers: Cooking Club

Trinity has been in a partnership with W.A. Perry Middle School for nearly 15 years. A key activity is providing enrichment activities for after-school students in Cooking, Sewing, Tennis and Golf Clubs.  Trinity also provides a weekend food program for students in need of nutrition help.  Additional volunteers are needed.

A priority need is a coordinator for the Cooking Club.  Arney Love who organized and supervised the Cooking Club has relinquished that task to devote time to her many other Trinity activities. There is a solid plan for the 6-week course each semester – light cooking, recipes, measuring, table setting and manners. And there is also a hearty band of volunteer assistants helping every week.

The time commitment for the Perry ministry is about 2 hours on Thursday afternoons over eight weeks each semester.  Interaction with students occurs between 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. The Trinity activities begin in mid-September and mid to late January.
