Brahm's Requiem Concert

The Trinity Cathedral Choir and pianists Marina Lomazov & Joseph Rackers will perform Johannes Brahms's Requiem in the Cathedral on Sunday, January 29 at 4 pm.  Although called a requiem, it is not a setting of the liturgical components of a requiem mass; rather, Brahms assembled a text from Luther’s translation of the Bible that focus on the very human sentiments that surround the death of a loved one.  The work, originally written in German, will be sung in English.

Tickets for this Friends of Music concert, from $15 to $45, are available online here, or by calling the music office during the week at 771-7300, ext. 241.
