If you suffer from depression or anxiety, you are invited to Solomon’s Porch

Solomon’s Porch was created by two Daughters of the Trinity family in August of 2016 to provide a small group experience for women who suffer from depression and anxiety. Members have often found healing and hope when gathered on Solomon’s Porch in the name of Christ.

Meetings happen every other week and feature discussions based on readings related to anxiety and depression, guest speakers, and experiential activities.  All meetings include prayer and scripture.

The evening chapter meets at 6:15 on alternate Tuesdays in Trinity’s library and a new daytime chapter meets on alternate Thursdays at 1:00. Meetings last one hour.

If you are interested in attending or have questions about Solomon’s Porch, get in touch with Janie Godbold at 463-0513 or  or Betsy Wolff at 782-0238 or  Reach out to either or us to discuss the evening chapter or contact Betsy about the daytime meetings.  Feel free to get in touch to schedule a cup of coffee with us or a call.  The full winter/spring schedule will be available on February 23.

Music is My Refuge

“Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.” This quote by Maya Angelou pretty much sums up my life. It's not that my life is terrible and music is the only thing I have or something like that, because I'm a lucky person and have a lot to be thankful for, but this quote represents how music has never ceased to lead me through my life and help me through both the hard times and the easy times.

When most people think of me, they think of music. I used to hate that. I wanted to be recognized by my personality or my traits, not just something I liked to do, but then I realized that music is all of that and more. It ties into everything that is important to me. Trust me, there are so many things that I could tell you about myself, but I’ve chosen music because it ties everything about me together. There are things in my life that I feel embody Maya Angelou’s quote more than others. These things are my experience in the church choir and my way of life relating to music.
