College Ministries

Trinity Episcopal Cathedral is the University of South Carolina’s neighborhood church.  Currently, students are active in daily Morning Prayer services in Seibels Chapel at 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, as well as the diverse Sunday worship offerings, with Eucharists at 7:45am, 9am, 11:15am, and 6 pm.  Students also enjoy the reflective 4pm Evensong service, offered weekly.  College students are welcome and participate in many of the Young Adults Married and Single (YAMS) programming, including dinners, theological discussion gatherings, outreach events, and community building.

Canterbury Columbia

In cooperation with the Diocese of Upper South Carolina and Columbia-area Episcopal churches, Trinity Cathedral supports the Canterbury Ministry—the Episcopal student ministry at the University of South Carolina.  As part of the cooperative, Trinity provides space for the Canterbury Ministry to host its weekly meeting in the Trinity Center for Mission and Ministry (TCMM) at the corner of Marion and Gervais streets.

Canterbury meets on Sundays outside the cathedral after the 11:15 am services for brunch, and at Immaculate Consumption for Bible Study on Tuesdays at 10:30 am.

Stay up to date with Canterbury of Columbia through the Canterbury of Columbia facebook group here.

Vernon Scholar Application for 2017-2018

The Vernon Scholars Program seeks to encourage USC students to find a vocation that gives their lives meaning, regardless of how they choose to make a living. Supporting students through a financial gift, a mentor group, and the life of its community, we aim to inspire young people to explore vocation more broadly, using the unique gifts each student has been given, in order that they might enjoy life more fully.
